  Day Date at the Met

  Meeting Kenny at the Met to see the last day of The Stein’s Collect (almost TOO amazing) and the Impossible Conversation/Prada & Schiaparelli Show (way TOO loud! Once would be enough for the video…but to screen it repeatedly throughout the exhibition is TOO much! The sound bleeds and creates cacophony! You cannot have a conversation or even hear yourself think about the clothes on display!) That said, the clothes are amazing! Eccentric, playful and detailed… Between the two exhibitions, it was a bonanza of visual pleasures!

  What I wore, in case you care..(and I read that people are hating on personal style blogs these days)…J.Crew Cafe Capris in Jade, caramel colored Miu Miu slingbacks from 2005, vintage Koos Van der Aker lace top, vintage Charles Jourdan fabric clutch in a “Gauguin” pattern, assorted bracelets from the flea…little skulls from a guy selling fake Chinese artifacts!

  Images from Paris Vogue inspired by the iconic Amy Arbus “On the Street” photo of a pre-fame Madonna in 1983.

  I wish I had a photo of myself in those big old men’s coats we used to thrift…I’m just a few years younger than her and I was doing the schmatta and housedress look too, at art school.

  Can you go back? Those oversize coats DO look fresh…
